The deafblindness is a disability resulting from the combination of two sensory impairments (visual and auditory), which generates those affected by communication problems and special needs arising from the difficulty in perceive, know, and therefore interest and deal with their surroundings.
In the case of deafblind people of birth, or the people that had have deafblindness at an early age, the situation is more difficult because there may be additional problems and affect their personality or behavior.
The deafblindness is a disability who require specialized services, staff trained specifically for their care and special methods of communication.
The deafblind people can be divided into four main groups:
1) People with congenital deafblindness.
2) People deafblind with congenital hearing impairment and loss of vision in the course of life.
3) Deafblind people with a visual impairment and congenital hearing loss learned during life.
4) People born without hearing and visually impaired or who suffer hearing loss and vision in the course of life.
